A spec campaign for Starface. Six frames that treat Big Yellow as a character instead of a compact.
Why the mascot
Starface has a mascot that never got to act. The yellow smiley compact sits on every product page, but it has never been given a world of its own, so the set builds one: a flat yellow stage, lilac shadows, stars used as props.
Half the frames leave the mascot alone in that world, half put it back into a real bedroom at night. The Y2K register stays exactly where the brand keeps it, the production value goes up.
The system behind it
The compact and the star patch are locked references, so the smiley, the proportions and the exact yellow stay identical whether the object floats on a colour field or sits on a nightstand.
That is what makes a character repeatable. Big Yellow can go anywhere from here and still be the same object, which is the entire point of having a mascot.
